I am a high school student who was recently able to complete work experience at Altus Lawyers over my school holidays – I am in VCE and was hoping to gain some insight into how a law firm runs, and firsthand knowledge of what the legal industry is like. The primary thing that struck me was the care every lawyer seemed to have for their clients, and their earnest dedication to obtaining the best outcomes for them; it was clear that all staff were clearly passionate about what they were doing. Everyone in the office was kind, approachable and willing to share their knowledge, and it was a highly collaborativeenvironment; the Principal Brendan Swift took the time to explain processes and concepts to me despite being very busy handling multiple cases and the whole office, which meant a lot to me. I had unique insight into how Altus Lawyers runs their cases, and as a result I wouldrecommend them to anyone experiencing legal troubles and seeking professional and quality advice.

Phillip, Claire and Brendan have been incredible throughout the last 18 months of litigation I have unfortunately experienced. Hopefully I never find myself in such a situation again but if I do I have no issues using their services again. Helped me to achieve an outcome that was acceptable to me.

My first meeting with Phillip and Brendan was a breath of fresh air they listened very intently to the details of the case and really brought a humane element by building rapport with myself, treating me with complete dignity regarding the circumstances as well as digging down into the detail.
