Absolutely useless. Took months to respond to my complaint (around 6), and then is only concerned with closing complaints through any words possible… But if anyone’s interested, I learnt through the Ombudsman that apparently University’s (and presumably other public bodies), and not only not liable for misrepresenting their offerings (i.e. no refunds, etc), but are also not obligated to follow up and fix it, even if they say they will. These are the words of the Ombudsman. I can’t believe my taxes support this oversight body, lol.
Completely useless. Had an issue with AusPost and they decided that despite providing evidince, they'll close the case until I get *more* evidince for them. As near as I can tell, this is more of a counselling service for them to empathize with you while they do nothing.
It took them almost 2 months just to acknowledge complaint, and only after I called them. Another month to give Australia Post to respond. And then more waiting. Its time to put some real teeth into this organization or find somebody else to handle complaints.
Waste of time I would rate negative graham's number but I can rate this 1 star which is more than what they deserve. These are only 1 star but what's the point of having a commonwealth ombudsman when you don't have the power to tackle an issue for nothing more than waste of tax payer money just trying to justify their own position to give you a false that they are making a difference when they are not making any impact. All words and no action that's what this body is full of yes men in those high cushy jobs.
Pointless organisation(s) a toothless kitten. There is no justice when occupations such as the ombudsman don't follow up on reportings of crimes or misconduct. I find this inaction a form of negligence to such an extent that of which potentially apart of the problem. Effectively amediatly making organisations as the ombudsmen redundant due to the incapability to justify their occupational existence. Well dont just sit there. Oh I called you guys that should indercate that phone call is preferred method of contact. Such a shame that no star is not an option. Enjoy a pointless existence or make positive honest change.
