Really disappointed by the service here. I was advised by the NT Licensing Board and Consumer Affairs to contact DCLS to help me with a legal dispute between my housemate and I and our Property Managers. Despite taking my call for 30 minutes, taking all the details of my case and booking me 2 appointments to meet with someone - I was then called the next morning and told “we can’t help you”. When I asked why I was told “for privacy reasons we cannot tel you”. Surely as a Community Legal Service recommended by bodies assisting with consumer and Tenant rights you’d expect a reasonable explanation as to why DCLS refuses to assist you. Or that they’d perhaps tell you this BEFORE taking all your private information down, booking multiple appointments only to cancel on you and reject you. Pretty poor form really - nice to know all tenants have equal rights…
